THE BATTLE OF THE HENGE
After defeating the Cult of the Green Death's flunkies at the seaplane (and blowing up the seaplane) the players moved towards the clearing where the Henge was located and where the cult was suppose to have their base. After avoiding a number of traps in the woods the players arrived at the clearing.
Splitting up one group went down the left side of the table, another the right side. Don Diablo advances in the open while covered by his assistant, Zephyr. Colonel Infernal and Mumford advance through the woods followed by Professor McTavish and Johnson.
Dobbie and Muffin lead Long Round Short Round and Miss O'Toole down the left side.
Suddenly Dobbie and party are charged by three cultists, two armed with swords. Meanwhile Zephyr spots an armored giant with a blazing sword and pumpkin head (not an easy thing to hide) and fires three time (custom rifle) and wounds on one hit.
The fat cultist unleashes two powerful blows at Dobbiethat hit but do no damage (Cast Iron Arm AP 9 wounds on a 1-9, roll two 10s of course) but falls to Dobbie's counterpunches. A cultist with a sword drops Muffin (you killed my dog cries Dobbie) while Long Round and the other cultist remain locked in combat.
Short Round moves up with Long Round to take down one cultist while Dobbie smashes the one that got his puppy, Muffin. Then charging through the trees comes a monster in a suit or armor with a blazing sword and a pumpkin head. Dobbie does his best, but the blazing and poisoned sword hits twice and fellsDobbie (poison weapons do two wounds for each wounding hit), but Dobbie hits the monster for a wound. Long Round, Short Round and Miss O'Toole pass their Moxie tests for fear.
And they blaze away with their pistols dropping the monster.
Colonel Infernal dash to cover behind the henge but takes a wound (be a good chap Mumford and take this wound for me said Colonel Infernal).
From the rifle armed Cultists hiding by the outhouse at the far end of the table.
Suddenly, a horde of pistol armed Cultists lead by a midget swarm from a hidden entrance. Unfortunately, they had moved so far that they only got off one shot each, and that at long range. Snap fire from Thomas and his men dropped two, and two more fell from Don Diablo and Zephyr's guns.
Professor McTavish and Johnson are targeted by the rifle and submachinegun armed Cultists. Johnson falls and McTavish is badly wounded.
The midget Cultist drops down the hatch, while the last standing Cultist drops under a hail of bullets. Meanwhile the Colonel finds another hatch and Don Diablo shoots the lock off. The Cultists at the far end of the table disappear.
So ends the third game. Eight dead cultists and a monster destroyed (which dissolved into smoke after it had been stopped). Dobbie and Johnson were down with serious wounds but a way into the undergound lair of the Cult of the Green Death had been found.
